A catch-all e-mailbox is one that gathers all the emails sent to invalid addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody misspells it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and in this way you’ll never miss emails because the other party has an obsolete email address or has made a typographical error. The downside of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of spam, but this problem can be fixed using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also crucial to know that a mailbox with an active catch-all functionality cannot redirect incoming email messages to a third-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

In case you’ve got a Linux shared hosting with our company and you’d like to enable the catch-all feature for a specific e-mailbox that you’ve got in the account, it’ll take literally just one single click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to accomplish this. A catch-all button is available to the right of each email address that you have set up under any domain name registered in your account. You can choose one single address per domain name by clicking the respective button. This will enable the feature instantaneously, so all email messages sent to miswritten addresses will be delivered there. Clicking the button once more will deactivate the catch-all feature. If you have activated email forwarding, our system will display a warning message and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature till you disable the forwarding or you can simply select a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The in-house built Hepsia Control Panel that is included with each semi-dedicated server package that we are offering will allow you to configure a catch-all e-mailbox without any difficulty even if you do not have much email/web hosting experience. All you need to do to accomplish that is click the catch-all icon, which will be to the right of each email address that you’ve created with your domain names in the Control Panel’s Email Manager section. As you can have just one single mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will warn you if you have already set up another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you want to use has email forwarding activated. In case you decide that you don’t want the feature anymore, you can deactivate it by clicking again on the same icon. The Email Manager will also permit you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
