Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a validation system, that is used to stop the so-called email spoofing where an e-mail message is sent from one e-mail, but to appear as being sent from another, often with the purpose to fraud the recipient in some way. If SPF protection is activated for a domain, a unique record is generated for it in the Domain Name System and all DNS servers worldwide get it. The record contains all mail servers that are permitted to send valid messages from an address under the domain. When an e-mail is sent, the very first DNS server it goes to verifies the SPF record and when the sending server is permitted, the message is sent to the targeted receiver. In case, however, the sending server is not present in the SPF record for the particular domain, the message won't be sent and it'll be removed. Whenever you use this service, it will stop third parties from sending spam messages which look as if they have been sent from you.

SPF Protection in Shared Hosting

SPF protection can be activated for any domain hosted in a shared hosting account on our cloud hosting platform with only a few clicks. The feature is available in the Emails section of our state-of-the-art Hepsia Control Panel and what is needed to enable it is to choose one of your domains from a drop-down list and enter the hostnames as well as the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the mail servers which will be certified to send email messages from your email addresses. As an additional option you can even restrict the e-mails to be sent from your domain only if it includes our MX records, in other words if our servers handle the email addresses for it, not a third-party provider. This feature will give you the top standard of security, but it's not applicable when only your website is on our servers while your e-mail addresses for the domain are taken care of in a different place. Either way, our SPF protection service will keep your emails protected from being used for spam and/or scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The Hepsia hosting Control Panel, that is included with all of our Linux semi-dedicated hosting, provides you with an incredibly easy-to-use interface to enable the SPF security service for each domain name that you host within your new account. A couple of clicks in the Emails section of Hepsia are enough for that then you will only have to enter the hostname and the IP address of the mail server that will be allowed to send out messages from your email addresses. When the email messages are taken care of on our end and not by a different supplier, you can boost the security level even further and activate an option for the outgoing e-mail messages to be sent only if your domain names use our MX records. This option will give you increased control and it will eliminate any chance of somebody counterfeiting your emails with the objective of spamming and scamming people. It's not applicable when just your site is hosted on our advanced cloud web hosting platform, while your e-mail addresses are managed by another provider. If you are not sure what options to select, our tech support staff will assist you 24/7.
